Explore the educational environment of the Department of Plant Medicine, Chungbuk National University.

​Admission

In the undergraduate course of the Department of Plant Medicine, you will have the opportunity to learn all the disciplines in both majors, plant pathology and applied entomology. You can choose one of the two majors if you want to go on to graduate school.


In the undergraduate program, theories and practical skills can be cultivated through various laboratory and field practices as well as basic knowledge in overall agriculture. It will instill the ability to understand and practically solve the problems caused by diseases and pests of plants, which are considered to be a major problem in agriculture.
 

In the graduate program, students will have the opportunity to choose one of the two majors, plant pathology or applied entomology, and to acquire more in-depth knowledge and develop research capabilities focusing on his/her specific field. In the program, researchers are nurtured as scientists for the development of science with various research materials, or as professional manpower that can be directly used in industrial fields. The current graduate program is currently maintained under the name of the Department of Agricultural Biology.

Scholarship

Students who are interested in the scholarship system of Chungbuk National University (CBNU) and the Department of Plant Medicine (DPM) can receive more detailed information by contacting the department office (plant_medicine@chungbuk.ac.kr). For general information about the CBNU scholarships, please refer to the CBNU Scholarship Information (written in Korean) by clicking the icon on the left.

The scholarship evaluation guidelines for the DPM are as follows:

[2018. 2. 6.]

Article 1 (Purpose) The purpose of these bylaws is to stipulate supplementary matters for the DPM to the school regulations of CBNU.

Article 2 (Priority of Application of Regulations) In case of conflict between this regulation and the school rules, or there is a controversy over interpretation, the school rules take precedence.

Article 3 (Revision of Bylaws) Amendments to the bylaws are amended and finalized through the PM Faculty Meeting.

Article 4 (Selection of Scholarship Students)

1. Scholarships allocated to the DPM in accordance with the Scholarship Management Guidelines of CBNU should be operated fairly and efficiently, and should be used for the following purposes:
1) Creating an atmosphere of study and nurturing talent
2) Implementation of reward and welfare functions of scholarships
3) Objectivity and fair management of scholarship student selection
4) Improvement of fidelity to the classes of the plant medicine major

2. The selection method is as follows:
1) Work and welfare scholarship students are limited to those who have submitted a scholarship application.
(Welfare scholarship students are given priority if there is no disagreement.)
2) It is limited to students who have taken 12 credits or more (9 credits or more in the major) in the previous semester.
(However, 1st-year students are recognized as an exception as they cannot take 9 credits or more of the major.)
3) Outstanding academic scholarship student (Class A), including best academic scholarship student, is limited to one person per grade.
4) Scholarship students, except for Class C, cannot be additionally awarded outside scholarships.
(Beneficiaries may choose.)
5) Class C scholarship students are allocated according to the number of students in each grade, except for national need-based scholarship recipients, but are allocated in consideration of the number of class A and B scholarship students.

3. The selection of scholarship students is decided through the department faculty meeting.

(Time of Application) The application of this regulation shall take effect immediately.
