Welcome to

THE NEXT BIG THING

WELCOME!

Green environments are increasingly distanced from us. Well, actually, we humans made it that way. In this turbulent New Normal Era, we need active young people who follow the One Health concept that allows humans and nature to coexist.

2004. Changed to Dept. Plant Medicine

1979. Dept. Ag. Biol. established

1983. 1st graduates produced

1992. Pl. Hospital established

1983. MS prog. established

1987. PhD prog. established

For the conservation of healthy green nature, the Department of Plant Medicine specializes in future-oriented research on the treatment of plants, and studies and teaches biology related to agriculture and the environment.

Plant medicine is a major that comprehensively deals with the taxonomy, physiology, ecology, genetics, and control of diseases and pests that occur in all green plants, including crops, food crops, horticultural crops, landscaping, and forest trees, and ornamental plants.

The field of specialization is largely divided into the applied entomology major and plant pathology major, depending on the subject that harms the plant. In order to identify the cause of a sick plant, we deal with and study all microorganisms, insects, weeds, and environmental abnormalities, and conduct plant medical research and practice for prompt and accurate treatment and control.

The Plant Hospital at the Chungbuk National University is the first institution to specialize in plant treatment opened at a university in Korea. Through the Plant Hospital, our students not only have a chance to practice but also to volunteer for various treatment and diagnosis requests for diseased plants.

Why don't you join us to become an expert on green nature?
